The PowerShell Podcast

Building your career with PowerShell

Tonight is the Night!

Happy PowerShell V2 day! We hope you can join us on the Ustream channel at 9:30PM EDT tonight for the PowerShell event of the year! Quest Software is sponsoring a PowerShell Scripting contest where you can test your skills and get paid. Do you have the muscle to bring home the prize?

And we"™re on Twitter too"¦

Jon and I went back and forth on this for a while and to be honest, I never really did change my mind about it but as Facebook Pages can now link to Twitter IDs it only made sense to make a new Twitter account while I was in there. 🙂 Here are the ways you can follow us on Twitter: Jonathan: twitter.com/jonwalz Hal: twitter.com/halr9000 (new) The Show: twitter.com/powerscripting This last one will automatically post when Jon posts the show, so this will be a fast way to find out when that happens.

New Facebook Page!

We"™ve long had a group on Facebook, but the funny thing about groups is that they are a real dead-end on Facebook, feature-wise. You can"™t add applications like you can on your own profile, and there"™s really not a lot you can do with them. The new cool on Facebook for the sort of thing that we really want to do is to create a page. We actually did that a while back also, but never really spent time on how or why to use them as opposed to groups.

PowerShell v2 Virtual Launch Party!

Please help spread the news as we have our own Windows 7 Launch Party"”just for the part we care about. 🙂 There will be prizes given away to those that show up! Please copy the below announcement into emails and blog posts, or share this link on Facebook or Twitter! Use the Twitter hashtag #PowerShellLaunchParty Windows isn’t just about the GUI. Starting with Windows 7, you have built-in access to PowerShell version 2, an object-oriented scripting language and command shell.

Please click on the link below to vote. [Will you attend our live stream if we give away a copy of Windows 7?
